Attaching wood trim and molding.

Not handy with tools but I have a bit of wood trim molding which keeps coming loose. I've tried hammering it back in, but I'm afraid of cracking it, or mashing the wooden trim molding. I don't think I can get the same type of wood trim molding in stores. Any advice on reattaching wood trim and molding around a door?
